DJ Premier:

Gang Starr 可称得上是当今嘻哈界里最有内涵， 在音乐及歌词上最富挑战性的团体，由Guru Keith E 及DJ Premier 所组成，Guru成立了他第二个饶舌团队Gang Starr Foundation，成员有Jeru The Damaja、Big Shug、Little Dap及Felachi The Nutcracker。

没有人可以挑战DJ Premier 90年代最重要的製作大师这个头衔，而且没有风格可以比他更独特、烈与粗矿，一首Premier的歌可从它的音节衝击、兇猛鼓声以及强烈的刮碟声即刻辨识出来，而且全部完美精準，来自布鲁克林的风格。

DJ Premier 与许多歌手合作多年，他在1990年帮Lord Finesse and DJ Mike Smooth所製作的Funky Technician稳固了他身为顶尖製作人的身份。1994年是他最呛红的一年，除了推出另一首Gang Starr名曲Hard to Earn之外，他的作品也包括了五星级不败金曲如Nas “Illmatic”、the Notorious B.I.G. “Ready to Die”、 Jeru the Damaja “The Sun Rises in the East”以及Big Daddy Kane and Branford Marsalis' Buckshot LeFonque project。

Big Shug:

Big Shug是Gang Starr Foundation核心成员，亦称 Murder (谋杀) 。Big Shug出现在大部份的Gang Starr专辑里，并一起世界巡迥表演，也是Militia团员，Militia成员有 Big Shug、Freddie Foxxx及Guru。Shug个人专辑 Who’s Hard?由传奇製作大师DJ Premier 负责大部份的製作，并且还有Alchemist及其他人的参与，他的第一首单曲 “Tha Way It Iz’ 是两个大学排行榜上排名第一的独立唱片单曲。
