Additional Information Support for High-resolution Monitors Solid Edge 2020 has improved support for bitmaps, controls, and other graphic elements displayed on high-resolution monitors (monitors with resolution greater than 3500 pixels). When you use a monitor with DPI greater than 170 pixels, we recommend you adjust settings in two locations: Set the primary DPI scaling resolution for the entire desktop using the Microsoft Windows Control Panel. Adjust the relative sizing of Solid Edge design tools on the Helpers tab in the Solid Edge Options dialog box. Temp File Space Solid Edge uses temporary file space to save files and to store memory mapped display files. Using temporary file space increases system performance and is more robust should you encounter network problems. You should ensure that you have twice as much free temporary file space as the size of the largest file being saved. The file size includes the size of the assembly, the size of the subassemblies that are being used, and the size of the part files. Running Solid Edge creates temporary memory mapped files that are used to support the display system. When you open assembly and part files, memory mapped files are created in the temp directory on the hard drive only while the files are displayed. The memory mapped files are deleted after exiting the Solid Edge file. Running Solid Edge creates a file named DCCACHE.tmp in the user temp folder. This file is a cache of the file icons displayed on the dialogs for browsing, opening, and saving files. If Solid Edge files are not properly associated with the product, try deleting this file and restarting the product. It is good practice to periodically delete files in temporary folders so your system is not unnecessarily using disk space. 0. Uninstall ANY SIEMENS SPLM License Server if one is installed:
- If the original SPLM License Server is installed, use "Programs and Features"
to remove it
- If SSQ SPLM License Server is installed, run as Administrator the "server_remove.bat"
from the SPLM License Server folder
1. DO NOT install original SPLM License Server from Solid Edge 2020 setup media!!!
2. Install or update the SolidSQUAD Universal License Server
If SolidSQUAD Universal License Server has never been installed
on the computer:
- unzip the "SolidSQUAD_License_Servers" folder from
"Server\SSQ_UniversalLicenseServer_Core_<release-date>.zip" to any DRIVE ROOT
folder X:\ (like C:\, D:\, E:\ etc), so the path will be:
X:\SolidSQUAD_License_Servers
- unzip the "Vendors" folder from

to the "SolidSQUAD_License_Servers" folder
- As administrator run "install_or_update.bat" from "SolidSQUAD_License_Servers"
folder and wait until it completes

5. Install Solid Edge 2020 and additional programs.
Do not install SPLM License Server from setup media!
Do not select license or license server at setup!
6. Overwrite original <Solid Edge 2020 program folder>
(by default C:\Program Files\Siemens\Solid Edge 2020 ) with cracked on from folder "Client"
7. Run "Solid.Edge.2020.SSQ.Licensing.reg" and confirm to add info into Windows Registry
8. Reboot computer
9. Run "All Programs > Siemens Solid Edge 2020 > Choose PDM Integration"
Select "Solid Edge with File Mnagement" and close Solid Edge PDM Client
10. Run Start > All Programs > Siemes Solid Edge 2020 > License Borrow > Environment Settings
Make sure that you have for License Server: 27800@localhost
If not- edit to 27800@localhost and save
