InnovMetric, the global leader in smart 3D metrology software solutions, has introduced PolyWorks MS 2020 IR7.1, the latest release of its 3D dimensional analysis and quality control solution. Base release offers multipiece editing capabilities that accelerate the preparation of robust inspection projects and facilitate data analysis. PolyWorks|Inspector
Fixed issues:
- An issue resulting in the failure to apply the guiding instructions of alignment objects has been fixed.
- An issue when importing features and controls from a SolidWorks CAD model has been fixed.
- Issues with the IGES and CATIA CAD model importers have been fixed.
CMM plug-ins
- Tactile scanning of plane features is now supported for LK controllers when using the CNC CMM plug-in. The macro commands offered for tactile scanning along a polyline can also be used.
- The CNC CMM plug-in now supports the Kreon Zephyr III Z3-50 laser scanner and its probe attachment. Note that this scanner is compatible with the Pantec Eagle, COORD3 CC3-NT, and Wenzel WPC2040 controllers.
- The following Zeiss RDS probe heads, and associated tool parts, can now be used for the Offline Simulation mode:
Therefore, those using those components with the I++ CMM or the Zeiss CMM-OS plug-ins can now use the Offline Simulation mode offered for the CNC CMM plug-in, such as to verify that the measurement path is collision-free, by creating a virtual machine configuration using the Virtual Controller controller.
Note the following:
- The A, B, and C probe head angles are supported according to the native Zeiss hardware convention.
- The following changes have also been made to existing adapter names:
When the Zeiss CMM-OS plug-in is used with a star stylus that has been calibrated in inferred calibration mode, it is now possible to specify which tip of the star stylus will be used to take measurements. The tip can be specified using one of the following methods:
- The list box on the Probing Device toolbar.
- The Tip list box in the Change Tool Orientation dialog box. Also, in this dialog box, the order of the Read Tool Angles from Device and Pick Tool Orientation buttons has been reversed.
- In the Sequence Editor, when clicking the edit step shortcut of a tool orientation step, the dialog box displayed now offers the Tip list box.
Once the tip of a star stylus is selected, its name is displayed in the step.
When the Pick and Change Tool Orientation or Pick Tool Orientation interactive mode is enabled and the mouse pointer is placed over the surface of a CAD model, the name of the selected tip is displayed in the 3D scene next to the combination of angles.
Fixed issues:
- Issues with the I++ CMM plug-in on a Zeiss CMM have been fixed.
- A software freeze after a scanner collision on a LK CMM has been fixed.
PolyWorks|DataLoop
Fixed issue:
- A software crash when opening a project in PolyWorks|DataLoop using the shortcut menu has been fixed.
