From the start of design conception through the production of schematic drawings, ETABS integrates every aspect of the engineering design process. Creation of models has never been easier - intuitive drawing commands allow for the rapid generation of floor and elevation framing. CAD drawings can be converted directly into ETABS models or used as templates onto which ETABS objects may be overlaid. The state-of-the-art SAPFire 64-bit solver allows extremely large and complex models to be rapidly analyzed, and supports nonlinear modeling techniques such as construction sequencing and time effects (e.g., creep and shrinkage). Design of steel and concrete frames (with automated optimization), composite beams, composite columns, steel joists, and concrete and masonry shear walls is included, as is the capacity check for steel connections and base plates. Models may be realistically rendered, and all results can be shown directly on the structure. Modeling
PT tendon vertical profile enhanced. All editable information related to the tendon profile, geometry, loads, and losses are available in one location.
Line Spring assignments are now available for “Null” line objects.
Loading
Uniform area loads assigned to floor objects are now additive when the loaded objects overlap.
ASCE 7-16 auto seismic load has been enhanced to incorporate the exception contained on section 11.4.
AS 1170.4 auto seismic load has been enhanced for base shear scaling based on Amendment 1.
Design
Concrete beam and strip-based slab design now allow control over including or excluding axial compression in flexural design if the axial compression reduces the required reinforcement. Axial tension and axial compression that increase the required flexural reinforcement are always considered. For post-tensioned construction all axial load is always considered.
Eurocode 2-2004 concrete frame design has been updated to consider the extra longitudinal rebar due to shear.
Performance-Based Design
Calculation of shear yield (Vy) now includes user-specified rebar in beam and column hinges even if the member has not been designed.
Faster initialization and finalization of the analysis process when running cases in parallel.
Faster nonlinear stiffness formation, event determination, and state update operations for small to moderate sized models.
Database Tables
Interactive database editing is now available for Section-Designer (SD) sections, including general pier SD sections.
Import and Export

Systems have been updated to the latest version. The Korean common rebar set is now available when defining reinforcing bar sizes. Performance-Based DesignThe event-to-event analysis method has been improved for better handling of equilibrium unbalances. Additional controls are available for this non-iterative method.The speed of solution using the multi-threaded solver has been substantially increased for direct-integration time-history and other multi-step load cases. The recovery of plotted and tabular results from nonlinear static and direct-integration load cases is now significantly faster. Results include deformed shape, force and stress values, and hinge states. The parametric PMM hinge has been enhanced to provide better convergence behavior in sensitive systems. AnalysisShort-term and long-term cracked-deflections can now be calculated for concrete floors. The rebar used for the cracking calculation is based on either provided rebar, designed rebar, or a quick rebar overwrite.
