Siemens Simcenter FloEFD 2406 for Siemens NX (x64) | 1 GB

Siemens Digital Industries Software announces the new release  of its Simcenter FLOEFD software for Siemens NX, a CAD-embedded computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tool.

New Features
The following new features are available in this release:

- BCI-ROM: Improve accuracy. Accuracy is improved in case there is a large difference between the initial temperature and the ambient temperature and a large HTC. The stability of extraction at lower tolerances is increased.
- BCI-ROM: Export of multiple formats. Simultaneous export of multiple formats is possible.
- Electromagnetics: Value on coil.You can get Electrical Current and Voltage values on the coil using the coil feature goal.
- Electromagnetics: Improved performance. By default, 1st order polynomial is set for the fluid domain which may speed up electromagnetics analyses.
- Structural: Remote mass. The Remote Mass load can be used to speed up a structural analysis by taking into account the gravity force (weight) from a body without modeling the body itself.
- Structural: Advanced material check. The Advanced material check option is added to Check Geometry for structural analysis. This option allows you to check solid bodies for which different solid materials are specified and detect invalid contacts between surfaces which are not in contact with fluid.
- A new Solar radiation model with Turbidity.A new solar radiation model can be used to account for the haze effect of the atmosphere on the intensity of incoming solar radiation. The haze effect is accounted via the Turbidity factor. The Turbidity factor allows you to describe the optical thickness of the atmosphere due to both the absorption by the water vapor and the absorption and scattering by the aerosol particles relative to a dry and clean atmosphere (by default it equals 3.5 for the blue sky, while for polluted cities it is close to 6-7).
- Transient Explorer: Custom parameters. You can add custom visualization parameters into the Transient Explorer.
- Goals: Adding Radial and Axial velocity. The Radial and Axial Velocity goals can now be specified.
- FMU: Unit output in FMU. Information about units is exported to FMU.
- New SmartPCB tutorial. The new SmartPCB tutorial explains how to import EDA files with Simcenter FLOEFD EDA Bridge, perform electrical-thermal co-simulations with HyperLynx DC drop analysis, and conduct linear static structural simulations.

New Features
The following new features are available in this release:

- Structural: Linear buckling. Linear buckling structural analysis is now possible.
- Structural: Modal frequency analysis of loaded model. Modal frequency analysis of a loaded model is now possible.
- Structural: Iterative algebraic solver. Iterative algebraic solver can be activated to solve memory intensive structural problems, for example very complex PCBs, to minimize memory requirements for a structural simulation. The iterative solver produces longer run times than the default “Direct” solver so the iterative solver is recommended to be used only if the available memory is insufficient for the simulation task.
- Electromagnetics: p-Adaption. Electromagnetic solver refinement of polynomial order. To increase accuracy for an electromagnetic analysis in local areas, you can activate automatic increasing of polynomial order (up to order three) in local areas.
- Electromagnetics: Dynamic Rectangle improvements. The dynamic rectangle can be easily oriented by setting coordinates and angles directly in the callout.
- Combustion: Three component mixture. Combustible mixtures can have three components, and the third component can be fuel or oxidizer.
- Teamcenter: Added FLOEFD results preview in TC. Each of the resulting pictures, video files as well as Microsoft Word documents and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets are stored in separate typed datasets and can be viewed with built-in Teamcenter software tools. Simcenter FLOEFD software for NX software Scene files are stored in a new special dataset type supported by Teamcenter version 13.2 and later and can be viewed with the standalone free of charge Simcenter FLOEFD Viewer.
- SmartPCB: HyperLynx report. You can now optionally enable a HyperLynx software report to study the results of a co-simulation inside HyperLynx.
- Two Resistor: Power value is added to the name. By default two-resistors show the power in the name.
- Radiation Source: Coordinate system selection. You can now select a local coordinate system to simplify definition of coordinate dependent radiation sources (for diffusive sources).

NX-embedded CFD Simulation
CAD-embedded simulation enables engineers to conduct analysis in the same user environment as design. Therefore, engineers can use the latest CAD geometry for analysis to conduct multiple design studies and evaluate how the modifications influence the performance of the design without the hassle of data translation.

Parametric Study and Design Comparison Functionality
The compare configuration and parametric study capability inside FloEFD enables engineers to understand the influence of changes in the geometry or boundary conditions on the results. Users can evaluate the design envelope by assessing results by numerical values, by graphs and by visual images and animations and thereby compare a wide range of project permutations.

Fast and Automated Meshing Technology with SmartCells™
FloEFD uses meshing technology which is recognized as the most efficient framework for simulating fluid flows, heat and mass transfer. In addition, the meshing process can be automated easily for even the most complex CAD geometries with the aid of SmartCells technology.

SmartCells are unique technology that combine robust Cartesian meshing with highly efficient analytical or semi-empirical solver models; thus providing high levels of simulation accuracy with fewer number of mesh cells than in traditional CFD. SmartCells typically reduce the manual time spent by traditional CFD tool users in meshing even complex geometries by an order of magnitude on average thus dramatically reducing a historical bottleneck to CFD user productivity.

LED and Lighting Thermal Simulation Capabilities
FloEFD's LED Module offers a unique range of capabilities required for various lighting applications:
Its Monte Carlo radiation model is best suited for thermal radiation predictions in lighting applications where lenses or reflectors can cause hot spots in focal points from the light source (solar or man-made).
A new band-less Monte Carlo model for lighting and radiation allows users to dramatically decrease time required for defining wave-length dependent properties while increasing simulation accuracy of spectral characteristics.
Its new water film model enables simulation of surface condensation, evaporation, icing and de-icing exploration such as condensation on the inner surfaces of automobile headlights.
Combined thermal and photometric model for LEDs based on T3Ster measurements of actual off-the-shelf LEDs can yield correct power and temperature predictions and "hot lumen" output.
Definition of radiation spectrum and setting intensity of radiation can now be dependent on the angle. With that data defined, FloEFD now automatically applies the calculated radiant flux on top of the LED.
Easy ray visualization helps finding sources for radiation hot spots on other parts of the luminaire.
A water absorption model enables the simulation of absorption of water into the plastic housing of the luminaire and later release of it under the right environmental conditions.
