Several new enhancements have been made in VISI 2022.1. Major new enhancements have been made to following functionalities within VISI 2022.1:
VISI 2022.1 contains several new general management enhancements, designed to simplify the software usage as well as taking away the need for extra clicks providing an overall reduction in modelling time while improving productivity. Innovative tools have been added for analysis, drafting, design, detailing and inspection of parts and assemblies to improve modelling performance for various applications. Once again, the usability workflow has been optimised, reducing design time when performing modelling tasks.
This version continues VISI’s long tradition of bringing updated CAD data file format support and continued enhancements and fixes to further improve the robustness and performance of 3D modelling and interoperability. The component that provides the appropriate ‘converters’ for the different CAD formats is constantly improved. Additional file formats have been added to extend synergies with other products from Hexagon. As usual, all the translators were updated to guarantee the highest possible level of compatibility with other systems.

This module is constantly being improved to provide a complete solution for reverse engineering of all parts, from scanning/probing to 3D solid model. The user has just to choose the best approach to use and VISI will do the job. The module has already reached a very competitive level of functionalities offering enhanced technology and synergies with other Hexagon products. An example is the new features developed to help the user during the analysis of the mesh, detecting and splitting it into different shapes.
This version gives users an error-free environment that improves manufacturing efficiency. Most of the standard element catalogues have been updated and improved following user requests. In addition, the tool cavity feature has been enhanced for better management and editing of cylindrical cavities.
Plastic injection moulding flow simulation
The continuous fine tuning of the new solution for the filling phase, introduced in the previous version, brought benefits to the entire simulation value chain. Not only is a better plastic injection moulding flow pattern determined, but the fibre orientation calculation has also been improved. Those enhancements allow better and more reliable part simulation, reducing tryouts and reflecting a more precise calculation of the deformation of the part. Additional improvements made to the new engine include accurate descriptions of annular and 3D runners, repetitions and hot tips.
Progressive die design
The progressive die end-to-end solution has seen a consolidation of all existing features by improving quality results and calculation speed to reduce the time to market. The unfolding definition processes have been revised and enhanced. Moreover, a new binder algorithm has been developed to unfold complex flange bends in multiple steps while preserving their shapes.
To speed up the mould assembly creation, VISI’s unique integrated solution that allows users to select from renowned catalogues, has been further enhanced with the addition of some new standard elements as well as updates to the existing data.
VISI 2022.1 offers the best-in-class technology available from Hexagon, constantly improving the software’s capabilities and performance. In this release, the focus is on management of electrode types, addition of holder collision checks to the 2.5-axis strategies, completion of waveform roughing functionalities, release of finishing strategies based on ATF technology, and the introduction of an automatic tilting strategy. Post-processor configuration enhancements and new option parameters have been offered to the Wire EDM engine as well. In addition, the Wire EDM engine checks the potential critical conditions, in offset or taper application, which could damage the final workpiece.
These changes have been designed to simplify the software usage as well as reducing the need for extra clicks and overall improving productivity. This allows our solution to stand-out and to offer powerful tools to quickly create valid model and features, offering a massive reduction in time and effort. The module has now reached a very competitive level of functionalities that should allow entering new market opportunities as well as offering enhanced technology and synergies within Hexagon to favor our customers.

Standard elements library
To improve and simplify the mould assembly creation VISI 2022.0 offers a unique solution integrated within the same environment that allows customer to select our renowned standard elements library as well as an extended cloud-based solution offered through a collaboration with our partner CADENAS. This represents the first true opportunity for VISI to offer a cloud service to our customers, that noticeably will provide a great help during the mould/progress assembly design. This service is included within the VISI module at no extra cost.
