PolyWorks|Inspector
The latest release of Spatial’s 3D InterOp CAD import technology has been integrated. The following formats can now be imported:
- ACIS SAT 2020 1.0
- SolidWorks 2020 (except PMI representation)
- NX 1872
- CATIA V5-6R2020
- 3DExperience (CATIA V6): exported from up to V6R2020x
The Measurement tab of the property sheet of comparison points now offers the Measurement offset section. The new section offers the following items:
- The new Offset check box enables the offset of the comparison point measurement zone, either relative to another comparison point or according to an absolute value.
- The Relative to comparison pointitem, previously located on the Comparison point tab, has been moved to this section.
- The Iterative measurement check box, previously located in the Parameters section, has also been moved and is offered when the Relative to comparison point item is selected.
- The new Absolute option button allows users to apply an absolute value to offset the comparison point measurement zone. When selected, the offset along the X, Y, Z axes can be specified. Note that this item is offered for all types of comparison points except cross-section comparison points.
The new Project > Pieces page of the PolyWorks|Inspector Options dialog box offers options related to the pieces in a project.
- The new Maximum number of considered pieces check box allows users to specify whether or not a maximum number of pieces are considered for a project. This could previously only be done using the PIECE USE_MAX_NB_PIECES and PIECE MAX_NB_PIECES macro commands. Enabling this option is useful when dealing with a large number of pieces as it will make saving and opening pieces much faster.
- The page also includes the New piece section as well as the Nonupdatable reports list box, items that were previously located on the Project options page
The new Use probe orientation check box, offered on the Build/Inspect page of the PolyWorks|Inspector Options dialog box, allows users to specify whether or not the probe orientation is used when selecting objects or surfaces while in the Build/Inspect mode.
Fixed issues:
- When tactile scanning a plane with multiple surfaces, the holes in the plane are now correctly detected.
Portable metrology plug-ins
Version 4.24.2.2 of the SDK has been integrated into the API Radian Pro (Radian) Laser Tracker plug-in.
Fixed issues:
- An issue with the Leica AT400 Laser Tracker plug-in resulting in the “Command not implemented” error message has been fixed.
CMM plug-ins
The Nikon L100 scanner can now be used with the Renishaw PH10M-iQ probe head. Note that NMAPI version 4.6.3.0 or later must be installed.
Fixed issues:
- An issue when reading the working volume from a Mitutoyo UC400 controller in specific cases has been fixed.
- Issues resulting in the E778 error on Mitutoyo CMMs have been fixed.
PolyWorks|DataLoop
Workspaces can now be deleted in the Open Workspace dialog box by selecting the Delete menu item on a workspace’s shortcut menu or by pressing the DELETE key when a workspace is selected. This displays the Delete Workspace dialog box, where users can choose to delete the workspace from the local computer, from the PolyWorks|DataLoop Server, or from both.
Intermediate Release 7PolyWorks|Inspector
- It is now possible to use the Play Inspection tool on autogenerated sequences containing objects measured by macro scripts. The relationship between these objects and the other objects can be specified using theAdditional Measurements and Required Measurements object measurement script parameters.
- Results have been improved when using the Maximize number of in-tolerance controls GD&T option.
- The latest release of JT CAD import technology has been integrated. The following format can now be imported:

- Fixed issues:
- An issue with device position temperature compensation, when positions other than the first one are defined numerically, has been fixed.
- A performance issue when using datum targets has been fixed.
- Issues with the CATIA V5 and SolidWorks CAD model importers have been fixed.
Portable metrology plug-ins
- The new 4.0.0.24 version of the Creaform VXprobe and VXscan plug-ins contains several improvements and fixes. These plug-ins are now fully compatible with the measurement sequence: measurement sequences that use them can now be autogenerated and played by using the Play Inspection tool or by selecting the Launch Play Inspection check box and specifying a sequence when adding a new piece.Note that this update is only available on 64-bit platforms.
- Version 4.23.1.0 of the SDK has been integrated into the API Radian Pro (Radian) Laser Tracker plug-in.
- Version 5.12.11.0 of the SDK has been integrated into the API Radian Plus/Core (Omnitrac 2) Laser Tracker plug-in.
CMM plug-ins
- The Hexagon LSP-S2 and LSP-S4 probe heads are now supported for the CNC CMM plug-in.
- The Hexagon B3CS, DC4K,FBPC, RC241, and RC4K controllers have been added to the list of machine controller models for the CNC CMM plug-in.
- Fixed issues:
- A software freeze in the I++ CMM plug-in when stopping a sequence or when a collision occurs has been fixed.
- Issues when calibrating tool orientations on Mitutoyo CMMs using a UC400 controller have been fixed.
PolyWorks|DataLoop
- It is now possible to log in to PolyWorks|DataLoop Server for Microsoft SQL without using the current Windows session credentials with the new Use Windows session credentials to log in to Microsoft SQL Server check box on the DataLoop page of the Workspace Manager Options. When selected, this check box allows automatically using the Windows session credentials when connecting to PolyWorks|DataLoop Server for Microsoft SQL. When cleared, the user must enter a username and a password to be able to connect. The check box is selected by default.The following changes have also been made to the DataLoop page:
. Connection options for PolyWorks|DataLoop Server are now grouped in the new Connection section.
. When the Use Windows session credentials to log in to Microsoft SQL Server check box is cleared, the Test Connection button of the Connection Parameters dialog box cannot be used.
PolyWorks also offers a new object insertion tool that inserts new measurement objects at the optimal position within an existing measurement sequence. This tool significantly decreases the time needed to bring adjustments to a sequence when a new CAD model revision is integrated into an existing project.
