Gap Force
ㆍ A newly developed force that is applied between bodies to maintain a user-specified gap

Geo Contact Enhancements
ㆍ The performance of contact algorithms has been improved through SMP (Shared Memory Parallel) support for the following contact elements.

ㆍ Geo Curve 3D and Geo Sphere to Curve 3D are new contacts optimized for Curves 3D contact modeling.

Static Solver and FFlex Static

Enhancements
ㆍ The reliability and accuracy of the N-R Static Solver, significantly enhanced in RecurDyn 2023, have been further improved in RecurDyn 2024.
ㆍ Calculates static equilibrium state more reliably and accurately.
ㆍ Supports static analysis of nonlinear MFBD models including rigid and RFlex bodies as well as FFlex bodies.
Benefits
ㆍ By calculating the initial equilibrium state of a model such as vehicle or excavator in advance, the simulation speed and accuracy can be improved.
ㆍ Total simulation time can be reduced by tuning a model through static analysis before dynamic analysis.
ㆍ When the effect of inertia is small, the behavior of the model can be quickly observed using quasi-static analysis.
ㆍ It is possible to investigate the system’s range of motion or the interference between bodies through static analysis.
FFlex Static
ㆍ Structural analysis of flexible bodies can confirm deformation and stress in a static state.
ㆍ Supports static analysis of an MFBD model considering not only self contact of FFlex body but also contact with other bodies.
ㆍ When a deformed shape of a flexible body is required, it can be obtained by using static analysis and extracting the results.


MFBD Enhancements

Thermal Contact
ㆍ Thermal Contact calculates the heat transfer between two flexible bodies by thermal conduction.
ㆍ Thermal Contact is not only defined through Patch Sets but can also be between Patch Sets within the same flexible body.
ㆍ Possible to consider thermal conduction, thermal expansion, and thermal stress of a flexible body through heat transfer between different parts
ㆍ In cases where thermal energy is generated in a rotor and transferred to a stator, such as in an electric motor, it can be modeled using the Thermal Contact feature, and the results can be confirmed.
Mesher Enhancements for Geometry Relation
ㆍ The Surface Mesh function has been added to create Shell Elements for surfaces with 4 Sides or 4-Sided More surfaces.
ㆍㆍWhen the shape information of the underlying surface changes, the Shell Element is updated accordingly (Outline Surface, Spline Surface,
Extrude Surface, Arc Revolution, and Fill Curve are supported).
ㆍAutomatic Solid Element update when modifying the base shape, such as a Curve when utilizing Surface Mesh or Manual Mesh
Shell Pre-Stress
ㆍ Support for the creation of Pre-Stressed Shell elements

This tutorial covers how to perform co-simulation between RecurDyn and Particleworks. In this tutorial, co-simulation is performed on the dynamic interaction between the flexible bodies of RecurDyn and the fluid particles of Particleworks.

The model that will be covered in this tutorial is the Styler mechanism. The Styler is used to shake off the dust attached to cloth and to remove its wrinkles with steam. This tutorial analyzes the dynamic interaction between the clothes, which is expressed as a flexible body, and the steam, which is expressed as particles. After the co-simulation, we will also check the stress formed as the particles touch the flexible body, using the Contour function of RecurDyn.
